Individual counselling, couples counselling, and music therapy — in English and French, in-person in Westmount or online.

Individual Counselling

For men & adults

Many of the men I work with come in feeling stuck — not sure exactly what’s wrong, but aware that something isn’t working. Maybe anger keeps creating problems at home or at work. Maybe drinking or another habit has gotten harder to control. Maybe anxiety or avoidance is running things quietly in the background.

We start with what’s actually happening for you, and build from there. I draw on Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) — approaches that are direct, practical, and don’t require you to already have all the answers.

Some common areas:

  • Anger and emotional regulation
  • Addictions and problematic substance use
  • Anxiety, avoidance, and feeling stuck
  • Attachment injuries and relationship patterns
  • Life transitions and identity
  • Stress, burnout, and work-life balance

Couples Counselling

For couples

Couples often come to me when they’ve been having the same fight for years — or when they’ve stopped fighting altogether and something else has gone quiet. When anger or addiction is part of the picture, it adds pressure that talk alone doesn’t always reach.

I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which focuses less on who’s right and more on the underlying cycle that keeps you stuck. The goal isn’t to fix your partner — it’s to understand what’s happening between you, and shift it.

I work with:

  • Couples where anger or emotional reactivity is causing damage
  • Couples navigating one partner’s addiction or recovery
  • Communication breakdown and disconnection
  • Multicultural and multilingual couples
  • Trust and rebuilding after betrayal
  • Couples considering separation who want to explore options first

Music Therapy

Individual & group

Music therapy isn’t music lessons, and you don’t need any musical experience. It’s a clinical practice that uses music purposefully within a therapeutic relationship — sometimes to reach things that words alone can’t get to.

As a Certified Music Therapist (MTA), I might incorporate songwriting, lyric exploration, mindful listening, or emotional regulation playlists — depending on what makes sense for you. Music therapy can be used on its own or alongside counselling.

It can be particularly helpful for:

  • People who find traditional talk therapy limiting
  • Emotional processing and self-expression
  • Stress reduction and regulation
  • Grief and loss
  • Working with trauma
